Officers of The Board of Directors
President
Be responsible for the conduct of the Local League in strict conformity to the policies, principles, and Rules and Regulations of Little League Baseball, Incorporated, as agreed to under the conditions of charter issued to the Local League by that organization. Attend all MA District 8 meetings and report to the Board and members any pertinent information from Little League International.
Vice President
Presides in the absence of the president; works with other officers and committee members. Perform such duties as from time to time may be assigned by the Board of Directors or by the President.
Assist Coaching Coordinator and Division Coordinators to fill coaching positions.
Collaborate with summer coaches to ensure teams are entered into Summer Leagues.
Secretary
Maintains a register of members and directors; records the minutes of meetings; is responsible for sending out notice of meetings, and maintains a record of league’s activities.
Treasurer
Dispenses league funds as approved by the Board of Directors; reports on the status of league funds; keeps local league books and financial records; prepares budgets and assumes the responsibility for all local league finances.
Vice President - Softball
Work with the Hingham Spring League Director to enter teams into D1, D2, and D3.
Share schedules and rules with Division Coordinators.
Coordinate entry into summer league and the number of teams per division.
Track tournaments for consideration by each summer team.
Assist Coaching Coordinator and Division Coordinators to fill coaching positions for softball divisions.
Player Agent
Receive and review applications for player candidates and assist the President in verifying residence or school enrollment and age eligibility.
- Conduct tryouts, player draft, and all other player transactions or selection meetings.
- Reviews mid-season evaluations to help with summer team selection.
- Prepare for the President’s signature and submission to Little League Baseball, Incorporated team rosters, including players claimed, and the tournament team eligibility affidavit.
Safety Officer
Coordinates all safety activities; ensures safety in player training; ensures safe playing conditions.
- Prepares the ASAP plan (A Safety Awareness Program) for submission to Little League International.
- Ensures that all individuals who submit the Volunteer Application complete the Abuse Awareness Training
- Work with the President and Vice Presidents to review background checks and CORI of Volunteers.
Umpire-in-chief
Serves as coordinator of and advises the league President on the league umpire program. Conducts scheduling league umpires for Spring and Summer games for baseball and softball.
League Information Officer
Manages league’s official website; sets up online registration and ensures the league rosters are uploaded to Little League; assigns online administrative rights to other local volunteers. Ensures that league news and scores are updated online on a regular basis.
Coaching Coordinator
Represents coaches/managers in league; presents a coach/ manager training budget to the board; gains the support and funds necessary to implement a league-wide training program; orders and distributes training materials to players, coaches and managers; coordinates mini-clinics as necessary; serves as the contact person for Little League and its manager-coach education.
Assists the President with coordinating training with the Positive Coaching Alliance.
Sponsor Fundraising Manager
Solicits and secures local sponsorships to support league operations; collects and reviews sponsorship and fundraising opportunities; organizes and implements approved league fundraising activities; coordinates participation in fundraising activities; and maintains records of monies secured through sponsorship and fundraising initiatives.
Concession Manager
Maintains the operation of concession facilities; organizes the purchase of concession products; responsible for the management of the concession sales at league events, tallies and keeps records of concession sales and purchases.
Marketing/Public Relations Manager
Oversees new player recruitment efforts; develops and maintains a league marketing plan focused on player recruitment and retention; oversees efforts to market new divisions of play and initiatives offered by the league; works with local media to promote the interests of Little League, and coordinates efforts to make the local Little League visible in the community year round.
