Amid the rapidly evolving situation with the Covid-19 or coronavirus epidemic, we wanted to provide the Scituate community with an update on how this all affects Scituate Little League and the upcoming Spring baseball season.

In accordance with the recommendations of Little League International (LLI), we are suspending all baseball operations until at least May 11th.

We had been planning for several pre-season events, including PCA Coaches Training, skills clinics, and evaluation sessions for Minors and Majors, and unfortunately, all such activities are now canceled. We do expect to make an online version of PCA training available for coaching volunteers to complete on their own time, but we do not expect to be able to make up skills clinics or evaluation sessions for this season.

We hope you will bear with us as we determine the most appropriate next steps once operations are able to resume. We DO intend to have a full or nearly-full season, depending on future guidance from LLI and the constraints we face from tournament play and the Summer Travel season. We will evaluate when the time comes the appropriateness of fees paid and whether any refunds are due.

In times like these we must remind ourselves to cherish every pitch we see, every at bat, every play and every out. We never know when our next opportunity will be.

Please stay safe, follow the guidance of federal, state and local authorities, and for now we can confidently say that, at some point this spring,

We’ll see you on the diamond!
