Scituate Little League held their Majors Division All Star Game on Wednesday, June 19th, 2024, and the ceremonial first pitch was delivered by none other than Red Sox Hall of Famer and 1967 American League Cy Young award winner, Jim Lonborg.

As a member of the 1967 “Impossible Dream” team, Lonborg led the American League in wins, games started, and strikeouts. Lonborg’s World Series performance featured two complete game victories, including what would be just the fourth one-hitter in World Series history. His regular season performance that year earned him the American League Cy Young Award, making him the first ever Red Sox pitcher to receive the honor.

Catching Lonborg was his grandson, Jesse Keefe, who represented Restaurant Oro as a member of the Minors American All Stars earlier that evening.
